Dr. Jones received a BA from Leavell College and an MDIV and PhD from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. The title of his dissertation is “Civil Disobedience: A Contextual and Theological Examination of Biblical Texts Addressing Government and Civic Duties for Christians Citizens.”

Dr. Jones has served as an Interim Pastor in Tennessee, an Associate Pastor in New York, and as Minister of Youth and Music and Interim College Minister in two churches in Alabama. He also has ministry experience in Itinerant Pulpit Supply, Preaching, Corporate Worship Leading, and missions trips with various churches, college, and student ministries. Dr. Jones currently serves as Director of the Colorado Prison Initiative and Assistant Professor of Theology, Old Testament, New Testament, and Greek.

Dr. Jones’s travels include the Bahamas, Bahrain, Canada, Cuba, Curacao, Djibouti, Nova Scotia, Puerto Rico, Saint Croix, Saint John, Saint Martin, Saint Thomas, Spain, United Arab Emirates, plus 33 states and counting. He has also made several ocean and sea voyages, passages, and crossings. They are the Alboran Sea, Arabian Sea, Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of Oman, Gulf of Suez, Levantine Sea, Libyan Sea, Mediterranean Sea, North Atlantic Ocean, Persian Gulf, Red Sea, Sargasso Sea, Sea of Sicily, Straits of Florida, Strait of Gibraltar, Strait of Hormuz, and the Suez Canal.
