Mid-America has partnered with Prison Seminaries Foundation of Colorado to train incarcerated men to be missionaries behind bars. Instead of typical prison ministries that visit prisons occasionally, incarcerated men are being trained to share the Gospel within their prison community as they live among them.

The Mid-America Prison Initiative began with its first program at the Varner Unit in Gould, Arkansas, offering a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies to inmates. On May 12, 2023, the first 18 graduates walked across the stage at Varner and accepted their diplomas.
