Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (MABTS) provides a clearly defined and published organizational structure that delineates administrative responsibilities. The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the seminary and, as such, has the responsibility for approving the Organizational Diagram of MABTS [1]. With the exception of one member, all MABTS Board of Trustees members serve as the governing board for Mid-America Student Housing, Inc. [2]. This chart depicts the structure in which all seminary policies and procedures are administered and delineated. MABTS’s President, appointed by the Board of Trustees [3], has the governing authority and responsibility for the administration of the seminary and all its activities, including recommending vice presidential appointments. The Executive Vice President delegates the development and implementation of departmental-level policies and the duties for functional areas of the seminary to vice-presidential level administrators whose responsibilities for policy administration are specified in their job descriptions [4].

The responsibilities of all academic and administrative personnel are defined clearly in the 2014-15 Employee Handbook in which job descriptions for administrative and academic personnel [5] are clearly stated. The organizational structure is updated and disseminated in these handbooks annually during faculty and staff in-service at the beginning of the academic year.
