Through a cooperative plan among libraries, research materials not available at one library may be borrowed from another. When Memphis area library resources are exhausted, then one may inquire at the circulation desk about Interlibrary Loan service. Please allow at least two weeks to receive requested loans.
Formal and reciprocal cooperative agreements among libraries in the area enable students and faculty to draw on resources not available at MABTS. Because lending policies vary among the institutions, check with the Library Director here before contacting other libraries.

Your research need not be limited to materials held in The Ora Byram Allison Memorial Library . If an item you need for your research cannot be found on OPAC, you may place a request for that item through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). The Library Director will place requests for it with participating libraries in the U.S. or abroad. If the item can be loaned or photocopied, the Library Director will obtain it and notify you when it arrives. Please note that the time required to obtain materials through ILL can vary, depending on the nature of the item and its availability. You should allow up to two weeks lead time for obtaining materials through ILL.
To borrow books or obtain photocopies of articles from periodicals not owned by The Ora Byram Allison Memorial Library, please fill out the electronic ILL form that can be found through the link below. Please note that the ILL staff cannot request copies of materials held by the libraries unless these materials are currently out of circulation here at MABTS (e.g., checked out to another patron, at the bindery, missing, damaged). If an item you need for your research is checked out to another patron, you should recall the item through the Circulation Desk. If an item is on reserve, it may not be obtained through ILL, since it is readily available at the library. Please inquire at the Circulation Desk if you have questions.
