Glenda Norville has been with Mid-America since December 2009, beginning with serving students in the Student Life office and spending a few years in Admissions before moving to the office of the VP/Dean of the Seminary as Executive Administrative Assistant. Now serving as the Director of Academic Services, Glenda earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Memphis and spent many years working at home as a proofreader while raising two sons with her husband Cliff. One of her favorite movies is “Roxanne” with Steve Martin, a modern retelling of the play Cyrano de Bergerac from 1897. She loves the quote from the movie where the young man trying to woo Roxanne on her balcony using the de Bergerac character’s “words,” misunderstands the cue and says instead “Worms, Roxanne, worms!” Her mission in life has been to be forever careful with her words, so that there is mutual respect and understanding…instead of “worms.” She attends Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett.
