Dr. Seal, who grew up in Muscle Shoals, AL, serves as the Dean of Nouthetic Studies at Mid-America Baptist. He trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of fifteen. Almost simultaneously, he received a call from the Lord to serve in full-time ministry and began to preach as opportunities arose. After earning a B. S. degree in Management and Marketing from the University of North Alabama in 1981, he married his high school sweetheart, Sanrea, in 1982. A few years later, he earned his M. Div. degree in 1985 from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Over the next fourteen years, he served as the pastor of three congregations. During the latter two years of his service as a pastor, he, once again, felt God moving him to further his education. He decided to come to Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned his Ph. D. in 2003. After graduation, Dr. Seal taught students the fundamentals of expository preaching at the Olford Center in Memphis, TN.
In 2005, Dr. Seal joined the Mid-America faculty as the chairman of the Practical Theology department. Thereafter, he became the Dean of the Doctor of Ministry program and the Assistant Dean of the Adrian Rogers Center for Biblical Preaching. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and continues to preach and teach in local churches. He served as the interim pastor of several congregations in the Memphis area.
His wife, Sanrea, ministers to women through sharing her considerable experience regarding serving as a pastor's wife. She faithfully models what it means to serve as a mother at home (Titus 2:5). Her nurturing care and involvement in the lives of their three children, Crissy (married), Zach (married), and Mackenzie, helped to lead each to a personal and vital relationship with the Lord. Crissy, the oldest, earned her Pharm. D. degree in 2011. Zach is a current student at MABTS, where he is seeking his PhD degree. Mackenzie, the youngest, is a recent graduate of the University of Memphis. Dr. and Mrs. Seal are proud grandparents of two grandchildren.
Interesting fact about Dr. Seal: He is a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan!
