Dr. Mark Thompson

Director of the Arkansas Prison Initiative, Assistant Professor of Church History, Missions and Theology


Dr. Mark Thompson serves as the Director of the Arkansas Prison Initiative, and as an Assistant Professor of Church History, Missions and Theology. He is married to Laurie, and the Lord has blessed them with three children: Logan, Hailey, and Faith. An avid UT Vols fan, in his spare time Dr. Thompson referees high school football, and umpires baseball and softball, including college softball. He coached 7th grade boys basketball at ECS for 2 years and also the 16u girls Memphis Nighthawks to a National Runner-up finish in 2013.


Something you might not know about Dr. Thompson: he has been a member of the Rotary Club for the last 8 years and was named a Paul Harris Fellow in 2018. He is also a dedicated UT Vols fan!
