Dr. Bradley P. Roderick

Chairman and Professor of the Missions Department

Dr. Roderick was born in California and lived in Florida and Mississippi while he was growing up. During the summer between high school and college, he encountered the living Christ and was saved. Immediately, he sensed the Father calling him to spend his life telling others about Jesus. He graduated from Mississippi College and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary before moving to Massachusetts to serve as a church planter. While there, he met his wife, Gretchen, and their honeymoon was a romantic drive back to New Orleans where he earned a PhD in Missions.

Following 11 years in church planting ministry in the United States, mostly in the Northeast, he, Gretchen, and their two sons, Joshua and Caleb, were appointed by the International Mission Board. After more than 19 years of service in Asia, the Rodericks returned to the United States to continue the same work they were doing overseas—training Christians to pray, share the Gospel, make disciples, start churches, and develop leaders.

Dr. Roderick currently serves as Chairman and Professor of the Missions Department and the Director of the Witness One:Seven program at MABTS. He is a member of the Evangelical Missiological Society (EMS) and the American Missiological Society (AMS).

Whenever they get the chance, the Rodericks enjoy trying new cuisines—whether by discovering an authentic hole-in-the-wall restaurant or exploring recipes in their own kitchen. They are the proud grandparents of three beautiful grandchildren.
