INS Bridge Program

 

Earn Academic Credit for Your Studies at the Institute for Nouthetic Studies (INS)

 

The Institute for Nouthetic Studies Bridge Program (INSBP) at Mid-America awards students who have completed Institute for Nouthetic Studies certification up to 15 hours of credit at the Master level, and up to six hours of credit at the Bachelor level toward a Master of Art, Master of Divinity, or Bachelor of Art degree in Biblical Counseling from Mid-America.

What is INS? 
INS stands for the Institute for Nouthetic Studies. Dr. Jay E. Adams, the father of Nouthetic Counseling, founded the Institute, which is a part of Mid-America. The Institute offers students the option of obtaining a certificate in biblical counseling rather than academic credit. Click here for more information about INS.
 
How does the INS Bridge Program work?
People who have completed certain courses through INS pay a fee, read prescribed books, and write a paper in order to earn academic course credit at Mid-America. For a list of qualified courses, please see the above chart.
 
How do I apply to Mid-America?
 
I’m unsure how many Mid-America counseling courses I’m eligible to receive credit for. How do I find out?
Mid-America is more than happy to help INS students determine which classes they took through INS will help them to receive academic credit. Please contact our Registrar at rmink@mabts.edu.
 
I haven’t taken any classes from the INS Institute. Should I take classes from INS to apply to my Mid-America degree?
If you haven’t taken any classes from the INS Institute, it would better serve you to enroll in the Biblical Counseling degree programs at Mid-America. Click here to apply online to Mid-America.

I’m divorced. What counseling degrees can I obtain at Mid-America?
Divorced students can obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Counseling or a Master of Arts in Counseling at Mid-America.

Which biblical counseling degrees does Mid-America offer?
